Biertan 2010

In 2010, Transilvania Fest was promoted in the area of Sibiu, culturally (patrimony area) and ethnographically rich (communities of Romanians, Saxons, Rroma and Hungarians): the villages of Biertan, Richiş, Copşa Mare, Alţâna, Viscri, Sibiu county, Mărginimea Sibiului, Agnita, Mediaş, Dumbrăveni, Braşov and Sighişoara.

The festival had crafts and agro-regional product stands, a small fare of Transylvanian NGOs with projects on cultural tourism, patrimony, education or environment, events dedicated to children (cheese tasting, the “Adventure of Senses” competition, old traditional dances, device drama show), programs for the stage of traditional dances and old traditional songs (dating from 1750-1850), open air cinema but also stables with animals from the region.

Craftsmen that attended the festival from Biertan and from the area of Sibiu, Cluj and Sighisoara have exhibited and sold clothing, winter fur coats, traditional fur vests and manufactured objects from Altana, traditional costumes for the children of Biertan, handmade objects from Biertan, Richis, Sibiu and Sighisoara, socks and knittings from Viscri and glass religious paintings from Copsa Mare.
